A MESSAGE FROM OUR RECTOR

Our Rector, the Reverend Arwen Folkes, welcomes you to our community.

Welcome to the website for the Benefice of East Blatchington and Bishopstone, where the two distinct and beautiful churches of St Peter’s and St Andrew’s offer you a very warm welcome. We are the Anglican Churches for these parishes which means we are part of the Church of England. That means that we exist to serve any person who lives in these parishes, no matter of which faith or none. We welcome our vocation to pray for and serve our parishes and we seek to provide a compassionate, peaceful and prayerful heart for the community.

Both churches have a worshipping and serving community, we place the Holy Eucharist at the heart of all that we do which brings us together as the Body of Christ and reminds us that we are now his hands and his feet upon this earth. In what we say, what we pray, and what we do, we try to bear witness to the presence of God, in the person of Jesus Christ, in this world. The church communities try to do this by honouring the greatest commandment - to love God and to love your neighbour. There have been church communities in these parishes for centuries and centuries seeking to do the same and we embrace our turn in keeping the Gospel alive and open for the present generation and the generations to come.

On the pages of this website you will find details about all aspects of our life inside and outside of the church building. We maintain a strong sense of community online and offline, inside and outside of the building, seeking to be a blessing and witness to the world wherever and however we can.

I warmly invite you to come and see what’s happening any time.
